Our patinas are created by a finisher who specializes in restoring antique furniture. He combines the technical expertise required for modern billiard tables with traditional patina techniques to recreate the look of furniture weathered by time.
4 Finishes to Make Your Pool Table Unique
A pool table’s finish is achieved by applying several layers of paint in different colors, which are then aged through a meticulous hand-sanding process. The authentic look of wood treated in this way will blend seamlessly into your beach house, mountain cabin, or country home.
Flemish Finish: This involves applying oil-based paint, wiping it down, and then distressing it. The brush strokes are intentionally very pronounced, and the edges are worn. This finish is available in any RAL color.
Antique Patina: This patina is applied exclusively to solid oak, which the finisher will treat to give it a grayed appearance. The oak is not drilled, so there will be no holes. The oak is left raw and waxed to preserve its natural character. A light, protective coat of clear varnish will be applied at the end of the process.
Luxury Patina: Using carbon paper, the finisher will darken the wood (Kotibé) and, in particular, the grooves. This creates a high-quality aged effect.
Antique Patina: Carbon paper is applied to the wood, and small holes are then carved into it. These holes give the furniture an antique look. The holes can be made more or less prominent, depending on preference.
