About the Designer
Frédéric D. Driani, a French sculptor, fine cabinetmaker, and designer, infuses his creations with modern lines in which hand-crafted curves intertwine. His woodworking and design make each piece a unique work of art.
Drawing on his extensive experience in woodworking, he immediately visualizes the final result of his sketches in his mind’s eye, and his imagination is constantly sparked by a wealth of ideas fueled by his love of wood, design, and nature.
A Unique Manufacturing Technique
The “Black Bi” is crafted from French ash wood, sourced locally to ensure impeccable quality and a minimal environmental footprint.
Each piece of wood is meticulously carved with a gouge, a technique that gives the billiard table a raw, natural look. The wood is then blackened using a unique in-house process, creating a visual effect of charred wood without actually burning it.
